Christmas is coming!

Again, we had great fun at the November Kids@Five, with the highlight being that at the end of our worship we sent hot air balloons soaring into the night sky.  Well, we said we'd light up autumn, didn't we?!

I've got to mention also the fab chocolate apples (like toffee apples, only chocolatey!) that Tessa made.  The kids certainly seemed to enjoy them, no surprise there.

And of course we worshipped God, sung songs in his praise and celebrated his gift of Jesus who lights up our life.

Which is a nice way of leading on to Advent, which means Christmas can't be far off...  So, Kids@Five will be happening again next Sunday, 12th December - as always at 5.00 pm and at Christ Church, Oxford Road, Marlow.  We will have Christmas craft activities and much more beside.  Not to mention the greatest story ever told...  So, why not come and join us?  All children of pre-school and primary age welcome, with their parents or carers.  See you there!

Next one coming up!

The month has flown by and the next Kids@Five is coming up this Sunday, 14th November.  What time?  At Five, of course!

The theme is "Light up autumn" and we'll be talking and hearing stories about being the light of the world.  We'll also be making fireflies and lanterns, shining our torches around and - if the weather allows - we'll launch a big lantern into the sky at the end.  Plus, of course, cakes and drinks to keep us all going!

Interested?  Just come along. Christ Church, Oxford Road, Marlow: 5.00 pm on Sunday 14th November.

Wow, that was fun!

Kids@Five got off to a great start last Sunday, there were only a few of us but we had tremendous fun.  The kids of course wanted to take over the puppets...  So that was OK, we just kind of ran the story twice, once performed by the grown ups and once by the youngsters.  Who was better?  Don't ask!

I guess the only problem was we did have rather more cake than we could eat...  So, let's hope for a few more folk next time.  But it really was well worth doing and the kids we had all seemed to have a great time.

Less than a week to go!

Kids@Five launches in less than one week.  The programme for our first session has a "harvest" theme...  We have a great action song for everyone to learn, some fun craft activities to take part in and we'll be introducing some farmyard glove puppets that we know the children are just going to love!  So, why not come along and give it a try ? - Sunday 10th October at 5pm, at Christ Church URC, Oxford Road, Marlow.

Oh yes, and free buns too!!
